Our Water, Our Future – Regional Protection Projects in Action.
Saturday March 21, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Salmon Arm Library in the Piccadilly Mall.
Mark your calendars! We are celebrating World Water Week with a presentation from guest speaker Marge Sidney from the BC Lake Stewardship Society. Marge is an R.P.Bio., now retired, who worked on water for her entire career with the Ministry of Environment in Kamloops. She is currently on the Board of the BC Lake Stewardship Society and the Gardom Lake Stewardship Society. She volunteers with the Shuswap Watershed Council’s Water Protection Advisory Committee, and continues to be active on water related projects in the region.
Jess Booth from the Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society will also present information on invasive aquatic plant species and invasive Asian clams found in parts of the Shuswap, including what is being done to contain them.
We hope to have other guest speakers that we are currently confirming, so stay tuned for more details!
